About the Role

As a Corporate Purchaser at Ascom, you will be responsible for selecting the best suppliers and negotiating multi-million-dollar contracts that impact our global operations. You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure optimal price, quality, lead-time, and flexibility for all purchases. Your expertise will help drive operational excellence and innovation across our organization.

In addition to strategic sourcing and supplier negotiations, you will also contribute to ensuring the quality, consistency, and efficiency of manufacturing and repair processes across our supply partners, including EMS (Electronics Manufacturing Services) and ODMs (Original Design Manufacturers). This includes securing that products are produced and repaired in line with supply guidelines, meeting standards for quality, capacity, software and hardware requirements, and lead times. Your role will be pivotal in driving continuous improvement across the supply chain and maintaining strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute supply and sourcing projects, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, and cost optimization.
  • Evaluate and steer manufacturing and repair processes at EMS/ODM suppliers, ensuring compliance with quality, regulatory, and supply guidelines.
  • Drive process validation and continuous improvement across production, products, and supplier interfaces.
  • Maintain and develop strong supplier relationships, ensuring long-term stability and performance in the supply chain.
  • Coordinate production programs, maintenance, and improvement initiatives across multiple product lines.
  • Manage supplier quotes, tooling, and equipment procurement, including software and services.
  • Monitor and report on supply chain sustainability, risks, and performance metrics.
  • Act as a key liaison between R&D, product teams, and suppliers to ensure alignment and transparency.

Required Competencies

  • Degree in Purchasing, Logistics, or a technical field (electronics, mechanics, or mechatronics), or equivalent experience.
  • 6–10 years in sourcing/procurement, including contract negotiation and supplier management.
  • Experience in IT, telecom, or healthcare sectors, and working across multiple product lines.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality assurance, and product lifecycle management.
  • Skilled in lean production, process validation, and continuous improvement.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 and ERP/vendor management systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English.
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and build a strong supplier base.
