Caregility Corporation, a global leader in AI-assisted enterprise connected care, and Ascom, a global leader in mission-critical communication and collaboration solutions, today announced an interoperability partnership to connect virtual care with clinical communication workflows. The companies have completed and verified an initial integration between the Caregility Connected Care™ Platform and Ascom Telligence™ that enables bedside staff to initiate nursing support from existing Ascom in-room wall controls.

Clinical Impact and Why This Matters for Caregivers

With the integration, bedside caregivers can use familiar Ascom Telligence controls—such as the Patient Station, Duty Station, or TelliConnect Workflow Station—to request virtual nursing support at the point of care. With a single button press, the request connects the bedside team to an appropriate remote clinician through the Caregility smart room device, helping caregivers obtain timely support without leaving the patient or disrupting the care workflow.

Embedding virtual nursing access within the existing nurse call workflow can help clinicians coordinate care more efficiently while keeping the patient at the center of the interaction. Virtual nurses can support admissions, discharge readiness, patient and family education, documentation, and real-time assistance for bedside staff. This collaborative model can reduce avoidable workflow burden, improve consistency in patient communication, and give bedside caregivers more time to focus on assessment, intervention, and hands-on care.

“The value of integration is making virtual care easier to reach within the workflows clinicians already use,” said Peter McLain, Chief Strategy Officer at Caregility. “This first connection is part of a broader strategic agreement to make virtual nursing and beside nursing seamless.”

“Healthcare organizations are looking for ways to introduce new models of care without adding unnecessary complexity for clinicians,” said Michael Augusti, Head of Marketing and Solutions, Ascom Americas. “Connecting Caregility virtual nursing with Ascom Telligence nurse call combines two powerful solutions to accelerate nursing efficiency.”

With this relationship, Ascom joins Caregility’s Care Square™ interoperability ecosystem of technology and clinical service partners. Care Square brings together complementary capabilities across clinical communications, EHR systems, smart sensors, AI, patient engagement, and workflow optimization to help health systems build connected care environments around the technology they already use.
